I am not, but I am

perspective.jpg

I am not a professional community organizer. I am a mom and an exe children's pastor (only they never even gave me that title).

I am not a professional anti-racist. I am a recovering racist.

I am not a professional lgbtq activist. I am queer but lived most of my life hiding even that.

I am not a professional pastor. My theology evolves constantly and mostly consists of questions.

I am not a professional artist, I only have a slightly skewed way of seeing. If that helps you to see, then I am happy.

I am not a professional writer, I write down my process.

Everything I know, I owe somebody for. Someone I read, someone I listened to, someone I saw, someone I cared for or who cared for me.

My goal is to stay in a stance of learning, forever. To never leave that stance. To sustain that stance.

My work is found somewhere between sustenance and discomfort.

I am not going to stop. I am not going to be quiet. I am not going to give up. I have come too far to turn back.
